The Light UAS Operator Certificate (LUC) is the highest level of authorization currently available for drone operations in Europe, and it is the first one to be awarded in the EU for middle-mile freight flights.
It enables DRONAMICS to self-authorize aviation operations throughout the European Union.

The LUC is recognised by all EU member states and provides enormous business potential for drone operators across the single market.
The announcement comes at a critical time for the airline, as it prepares for the maiden commercial flights of its flagship Black Swan aircraft later this year. The Black Swan, which can transport 350 kg over a distance of up to 2,500 kilometres, intends to alter supply chains by improving fulfilment efficiency, resulting in cost, time, and carbon emission reductions.
DRONAMICS is the first freight drone company to be given a licence by the Civil Aviation Authority of Malta, Transport Malta Civil Aviation Directorate (TM – CAD). It permits it to self-authorize flight activities of its Black Swan aircraft across EU countries, including BVLOS operations.
Later this year, DRONAMICS hopes to expand its operations and launch its first commercial flights from Malta and Italy. DRONAMICS is ideally positioned to operate its first routes over the Mediterranean, linking key centres across the region, with Malta as its European operations base.
